My take: This book is an adorable, colorful, and easy-to-read book for young kids learning to read. It also helps normalize different families. I currently have a stepdaughter who is being raised in a rural area, with limited exposure to different kinds of families. So, seeing LGBTQ families is not normal for her. The only exposure she may get is this book until she is older.
